Primary investigator for Des Moines area research. Funded by Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, partnered research project with Protecting Immigrant Families (PIF), Urban Institute, RIVA, and scholars from San Diego State University and Drexel University.

Telephonic Interpretation During Field Surveys in Multilingual Communities.
CDC, CDC Foundation, RIVA, NCFH

National Center for Farmworker Health (NCFH) and RIVA (under the organization’s former name EMBARC) developed a communications toolkit of best practices for fieldwork researchers attempting to interview and collect data from participants who speak languages other than English — particularly among those who speak low-incidence languages, such as Karen, Karenni and Chin dialects. This project was funded by CDC and CDC Foundation.
